Crossing Guard Basic - Railroad Crossing Controller

$49.00

Designed by Integral Circuits, the Crossing Guard Basic is an electronic driver controller for your railroad crossing!

This “all in one” solution is both track detection and a flasher circuit on one circuit board. The unit detects the presence of a train in the circuit using the impedance of the connection of positive and negative rails by locomotive and rolling stock wheels while filtering out other conditions such as wet or submerged rail. This filters out false activations.

The Crossing Guard Basic outputs up to 1/2 amp to drive LEDs on on your crossing signals. It also features pulse width modulation (PWM) to display a more realistic “fade” in and out of the LED to mimic incandescent light bulbs.

The lights will start flashing as soon as the train enters the circuit and will continue to flash for 10 seconds after the train exits the circuit. This allows leeway for particularly dirty wheels that may not always make good contact.

The system is simple to set up and requires a 9-12 volt input to power the board and the LEDS. The board will run up to 1/2 amp of lighting.
